Days Out in County Down

County Down runs from the Mourne Mountains that "sweep down to the sea" up through Strangford Lough and drumlin country to the edge of Belfast. It is saint-and-sea country — St Patrick's grave at Downpatrick, seaside towns like Bangor and Newcastle, and some of Northern Ireland's finest beaches.

Add castles, forest parks and the Ards Peninsula, and there is enough here for a lifetime of days out.
