The forest hacks

The big draw here is the ground. The estate opens onto hundreds of acres of forest hacking, so once you can ride out you get quiet trails through the trees rather than laps of an arena. Trekking is bookable for a group or on your own.

The story

A yard inside a castle estate

Owner Michael Boyd is a professional rider and qualified coach who has competed to Prix St George level in dressage, with more than twenty years behind him. The centre he runs has exclusive access to the forest across the Narrow Water Castle Estate, which is what turns an ordinary lesson into a ride worth travelling for.
