Treks and lessons

The one-hour trek is aimed squarely at beginners. You spend half the time hacking around the Forkhill countryside and half in the arena on fun activities that steady you on the horse. More experienced riders can trek the wider South Armagh terrain. Prices have been listed as low as £10 for the beginner trek, but confirm the current rate when you book.

Greenvale Equestrian Centre is a family-run yard on Longfield Road in Forkhill, tucked into the hills of South Armagh. You book in, they take you out on a hack and then into the arena to build your confidence, all in the one session. It is an easy first-timer's day out, run by Lena and Joe McCreesh.
