What kids actually do on Air Venture

The course is one big inflatable circuit. Kids climb the Jelly Mountain and bounce at the top, balance and barrel across the Wipeout balls, run the Double Trouble obstacle course, and finish on a free-fall airbag drop and a high-speed slide. A session lasts up to 60 minutes including the briefing, which is plenty of time to loop the course again and again. Under-5s have their own toddlers' section with gentler inflatables, away from the older, faster crowd. It's physical, sweaty fun, so expect rosy cheeks and tired legs by the end.

The story

About this place

Brook Leisure Centre sits on Summerhill Road in Dunmurry, on the south-western edge of Belfast. It's a Belfast City Council leisure facility, with a swimming pool, sports halls and outdoor soccer and Gaelic pitches alongside the inflatable park.

The centre is operated on the council's behalf by Better (the GLL leisure brand), which is why bookings and timetables run through the Better UK website and app. Air Venture is the centre's giant inflatable attraction, themed around an obstacle course and bounce zone for families.

Public Air Venture sessions and quieter inclusive sessions both feature on the timetable, so it's worth checking the current schedule when you plan your visit.
