Twelve boxes, eighty challenges, one hour on the clock

Each of the 12 boxes holds 4 to 6 tasks, and the final task in a box releases your token. Solve, collect, and move on to the next box while the timer ticks. It is fast, hands-on and competitive, more a race against the clock and the leaderboard than a slow story-driven escape room. Teams of 2 to 4 work best, and bigger groups simply split into more teams chasing the most tokens. Players call it captivating and addictive, an escape room without the stress.

The story

About the venue

ThinkBox launched at Prison Island Belfast in 2024 as one of the venue's activities, alongside the Prison Island challenge cells, the Axe Yard and quiz boxing. It is run as a separate experience, billed as a puzzle-box game for fans of shows like Crystal Maze and The Cube.

The venue sits just outside Belfast city centre on Balmoral Road and is open late, seven days a week.
