Five axe lanes, two escape rooms and light-up games

Axe throwing happens in five private lanes with a trained instructor teaching you to land the axe with accuracy, scored live on a digital board, in a 60-minute session for up to six per lane. The two escape rooms run for teams of 2 to 6 and include The Room, an MI5 interrogation theme, plus a seasonal room that rotates. For all-ages play, the Pixel Floor turns the ground into a giant reaction game you control with your feet, and the MultiBall sports wall has over 40 games you play by throwing, kicking or tapping the screen. You can mix and match, so a family can split across the axe lanes and the floor games and meet back up afterwards.

Booking required Indoor, all-weather Axe throwing 12+ Escape room 18+ (under-16s supervised) Pixel Floor & MultiBall 3+ Wheelchair accessible

The story

About this place

Tactixs opened in 2024 in the Richmond Centre off The Diamond in the centre of Derry/Londonderry, bringing a competitive social entertainment venue into a city-centre shopping unit. The owners pitched it as a place for families and friend groups to have a fun day or night out without leaving the city.

The fit-out leans on interactive tech: digital-scoring axe lanes, an LED Pixel Floor with foot-controlled games, and a MultiBall wall that reads throws, kicks and taps across dozens of games. Alongside these sit two themed escape rooms, one an MI5 interrogation theme and a second that changes with the seasons.

Opening hours run Tuesday to Sunday, with the venue closed on Mondays, and it's built to be fully wheelchair accessible from the street through to the axe-throwing lanes.
