Real rally cars on a real gravel stage

You drive Superdrive's purpose-built gravel rally stage with a current rally competitor instructing you from the passenger seat. Entry packages put you in a front-wheel-drive rally car, while stronger options move up to a rear-wheel-drive Mk2 Escort RS2000 and 4WD turbo-charged machines for more sideways action. No previous experience is needed, and because you're on a private stage there's no road-licence requirement. Junior experiences cater for teens from age 13 to 17 (minimum height around 5 feet), making it a genuine option for a motorsport-mad youngster. Each session typically includes a high-speed demo run with an instructor and a written driving analysis at the end.

The story

About the venue

Superdrive Motorsports Centre near Portadown is the only Motorsports Association and British Association of Rally Schools (BARS) approved rally school in Ireland, and one of very few rally schools anywhere on the island. It is run by experienced instructors who are current rally competitors and has marked over a decade of rallying at the site.

Alongside the purpose-built gravel rally stage, the wider centre also offers karting and 4x4 off-road driving, plus group activities such as paintball, making it a long-standing hub for motorsport in County Armagh.
