The story

About Lacada

Lacada Brewery started in Portrush in 2015 when a father and son began brewing together. It grew into a community-owned cooperative, registered as a Co-operative & Community Benefit Society, with more than 400 local members holding a stake in the business rather than a single owner.

The name comes from Lacada Point, a rocky outcrop near the Giant's Causeway tied to the 1588 wreck of the Spanish Armada galleass Girona. Many of the beers carry north-coast names like West Bay, Rathlin Gold, Blue Pool and Utopian Stout. The brewery took silver at the Blas na hÉireann Irish Food Awards in 2022 for both Blue Pool and Utopian Stout, and is now counted among Northern Ireland's leading breweries.
