The karting: a real drive, indoors

You drive the karts yourself round an indoor track that runs roughly 365 to 400 metres with a technical layout. The adult karts are 270cc LPG Biz Karts that get well past 40mph, so this suits older kids, teens and adults who want a genuine race feel. The minimum age is 8 and drivers need to be at least 130cm tall. No driving licence is required. It's a good fit for birthday groups, mates racing each other, or anyone who fancies posting a quick lap time.

The story

About the venue

Eddie Irvine Sports was founded in 2003 by Bangor-born Formula One driver Eddie Irvine, who raced for Jordan and Ferrari and finished runner-up in the 1999 world championship. The complex has grown from its indoor karting roots into one of Ireland's larger multi-sport venues, adding indoor football, simulators, padel and more over the years.
