You drive petrol karts around a 500m outdoor circuit that rewards a smooth line and keeps the laps quick. The track is rated beginner to intermediate, so you do not need any previous karting experience and no racing licence is required for standard arrive-and-drive sessions. The minimum age is 8. Safety kit including suits, gloves and helmets is supplied. Choose a straightforward arrive-and-drive session for a casual go, or book a Grand Prix style race if you want timing, results and a bit of competition.

Lyons Karting is run by the Lyons family, who have been involved in karting since the 1960s, when Raymond Lyons became a multiple champion. The track at Hillsborough first took shape in the 1990s when the family wanted somewhere to practise, and it has been developed over the decades into the circuit you drive today.
The venue is a member of the National Karting Association and has more recently added a Juggernaut Paintball area alongside the karting.
