The games: paintball at 16+, laser tag from 6

Paintball is the original draw, played across 10 outdoor zones set in forest with streams and waterfalls, including the Fortress, Trenches, Hostage Camps, Storm the Hill, the Swamp and the Watch Tower. The minimum age for paintball is 16, so it suits teens and adults, stag and hen groups and work days out rather than younger children. If your group includes under-16s, book laser tag instead: it runs from age 6 (with a hand from an adult for the youngest) on the same wooded zones, using laser MP5 guns and a hit-recording headband, with no sting and no paintballs to buy. Both games need a minimum of 6 players to run.

The story

About the venue

The Jungle opened in July 2005 as Northern Ireland's first paintball site and has grown into one of the region's leading outdoor activity centres, set in forest among the rolling Sperrins about 45 minutes from both Belfast and Derry. Paintball remains its signature, played across woodland zones with streams and waterfalls, alongside laser tag, zorbing, archery and high ropes, plus on-site glamping pods and cabins.
