Where you actually go

The address is 162 Glenpark Road, BT79 7SU, in the Sperrins between Gortin and Omagh. Read that carefully, because the sauna is right beside Gortin Glens Forest Park rather than inside it. You are not booking anything to do with the forest park itself, and the park's trails, car park and facilities are run separately. Your changing space is in the community centre, and it is a short walk down to the sauna from there.

Good to know before you go:

The Sauna Shack runs social sessions where you share the benches with whoever else booked, and private group bookings at £100 if you would rather keep it to your own people. Stretch and Sauna and Sweat and Sauna sessions pair the heat with something active.

The story

Heat in the Sperrins

Most of Northern Ireland's outdoor saunas went to the coast and built their pitch around the sea. The Sauna Shack went the other way and put the fire in the trees, using the stream running past it to fill the plunge.

It is a small operation, and it shows in the good way. You are met by name, you walk down through beech woods, and you sit at a fire pit afterwards with the Sperrins around you.
