Twenty taps that never sit still

The draw is the rotation. Bullhouse pours its own beer alongside guest brews from around the world, all listed on chalkboards above 20 identical taps so the liquid does the talking. Order a pint, a half or a third and work through hazy pale ales, big stouts and tart sours. There's a fridge of cold-chain cans and bottles for off-sales, plus wine and spirits, so you can carry the favourites home. A speciality coffee counter inside means non-drinkers and daytime visitors aren't left out.

The story

About Bullhouse

Bullhouse Brew Co was founded by Willy Mayne, who began brewing on the family farm he grew up on just outside Belfast. He converted the old bull's house — a roughly 500 square foot outbuilding — into a tiny brewery, running it as a hobby before leaving his day job in September 2017 to go full time.

In September 2020 the operation outgrew the farm and moved to a larger industrial unit in south Belfast. In June 2022 the team opened Bullhouse East, the city's first permanent brewery taproom, on the Newtownards Road. The brewery has since collected major industry honours — it was named Brewery Business of the Year 2025 at the SIBA UK Business Awards and brands itself the UK's Best Brewery for 2025 — while keeping the bull's house name that started it all.
