The pools

The main pool is a 25m, eight-lane competition tank with a 250-seat viewing gallery, the biggest in Belfast. Two more learner pools handle lessons and easier sessions, and one has a hydraulic movable floor that drops to four metres for diving. That flexibility means the timetable can flip between fitness swimming, swim for all, family fun and diving through the day.

The story

Belfast's biggest swim

When Lisnasharragh reopened as a £20 million centre it gave Belfast its largest pool, and it shows. Eight full lanes and a 250-seat gallery make it the kind of place where clubs train and galas happen.

For families that's a bonus, not a barrier. The learner pools and family fun sessions mean small children have their own warm, shallow space while stronger swimmers get room to stretch out in the big tank next door.
