Real outdoor racing, not an indoor floor

The track is 100% tarmac, which means proper grip, fast straights and corners you can actually carry speed through. Younger drivers start in junior Sodi LR5 karts, with adjustable seats and pedals, from around age 8 up to the early teens. From age 14 you move into the adult Sodi GT5 karts, which are noticeably quicker. No driving licence is required for any of the rental karts, so it is open to drivers who have never been on a road. Conditions matter: a dry day gives you speed, a wet one tests how smoothly you can control the kart.

About the venue

K-Team Karting is a family-run outdoor karting circuit on the Movanagher Road outside Kilrea in County Londonderry, a short drive from Coleraine and Ballymoney. It is built around a full tarmac track and a fleet of Sodi rental karts, with junior machines for younger drivers and faster adult karts for teens and grown-ups.

Unlike indoor venues, the circuit relies on real tarmac grip and open-air conditions, which is part of its appeal for drivers who want a track-style experience close to home.
