The water and the fishing

The lough is spring-fed and restocked every three to four weeks, with rainbows typically 2 to 12lb and the occasional bigger fish. There is a good wadeable stretch of bank for anglers who prefer to stay on the shore, and several boats for hire if you want to reach open water. You can fish it with fly, spinner or worm, so it works for different styles and skill levels.
