What's on for families

The gallery and exhibition spaces change through the year and are free to enter, so you can drop in and have a look whenever you are in town. The theatre is where the bigger family days come in: touring children's shows, music, dance and drama, plus the pantomime at Christmas that fills the auditorium. The centre also runs workshops and uses its art studio, dance studio and workshop spaces for hands-on sessions. Programmes change season to season, so check their listings for what is running and the prices and dates.

The story

About the venue

Strule Arts Centre opened in 2007 as a contemporary arts venue and conference centre in the heart of Omagh, close to transport links and town centre parking.

The building brings together a 384-seat auditorium, a lecture theatre, a visual arts gallery, museum exhibitions, a dance studio, art and workshop spaces, meeting rooms, a cafe and a bar. It hosts theatre, comedy, music, dance, workshops and exhibitions through the year.

It is run by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and also houses the local tourist information office, making it a useful first stop for visitors to Omagh and the wider Sperrins area.
