Start in the pool, then head for the sea

Your first taste of diving happens in a heated pool, so it suits complete beginners and nervous first-timers. A Discover Scuba session covers the basics under close supervision before you decide whether to go further. If you catch the bug, the PADI Open Water course earns a globally recognised certification and the skills to dive more independently. Children can get involved too, with options aimed at younger divers. Once qualified, guided sea dives open up Strangford Lough and the wider Northern Ireland coast, where you may spot kelp, reefs, wrecks and wildlife, though nothing underwater is ever guaranteed.
