What you can actually do here

Paramotoring Ireland runs beginner training, not tandem joyrides. The first step is a relaxed introductory session to feel out the sport with no experience needed. From there, a full course takes you through ground handling, theory and supervised flights until you can fly solo. Most people get through initial training in roughly 7 to 10 days of suitable weather, with all equipment supplied. Instructor Cathal Fowler is an experienced senior pilot connected with Irish aviation bodies, and training follows a recognised syllabus. If you only want a single flight to tick off a bucket list, a foot-launched paramotor school is not the same as a tandem skydive or scenic helicopter ride.

Good to know before you go:

Flying here runs on the weather, so slots move at short notice — take the reschedule, it’s part of the sport. Some of the sites and clubs listed on Days Out NI are for members and qualified pilots rather than walk-in visitors, so check what’s on offer before you set off. And check the age, weight and health limits before you book: they’re set by the aircraft, not by anyone being fussy.
