All-year lessons under cover

The heart of Mackenzies is its regular weekly group lessons for beginners, run for both adults and children at times to suit. Thanks to the indoor facilities, including a large indoor arena, these courses run right through the year rather than stopping when the weather turns. You don't need any gear or a horse of your own: the yard supplies a suitable pony or horse, all the tack and a hat if you need one, so a first lesson is genuinely walk-up-and-ride.

The story

About the place

Mackenzies Equestrian Centre is a family-run yard established in 1998 at Randalstown in County Antrim, offering lessons, livery and more. It has invested in large indoor facilities, including a big indoor arena alongside its existing indoor and outdoor spaces.

That covered space is the point of the place: it lets beginners and regular riders keep learning through the whole year, which is why it works as a dependable teaching yard for families in mid-Antrim.
