Bridges Urban Sports Park — Belfast's free outdoor urban-sports park under the M3 flyover, a short walk from the city centre.
The park splits into two moods. The transition side is one large rectangular bowl with an oververt, a long extension and a curved section set into one side, built for carving and airs. The street complex gives you handrails, hips, quarter pipes, grind boxes and hubbas to link lines across the flat. Being tucked under the flyover, much of it shrugs off a passing shower, which is why locals ride it year round. Designated spectator areas mean parents can watch from the side.
As a free open park it does not run its own sessions, but it hosts the wider Belfast urban-sports scene and community events organised with the Belfast Urban Sports charity. Check local listings for jams and demos.
Bridges Urban Sports Park is at Under the M3 flyover, junction of Little Patrick Street and Corporation Street, near Custom House Square, Belfast. Car park beside the park, about £3/day weekdays 8am–6.30pm, free after 6.30pm and weekends. Tap below for directions.
Bridges was developed by Belfast City Council with the Belfast Urban Sports charity and designed by Freestyle Skateparks, turning the dead ground under the M3 flyover into a free, weatherproof home for the city's riders. Putting it under the road was a clever move for a city with plenty of rain, giving skaters, BMXers and parkour athletes a central place to ride most days of the year.
