What gets booked

The programme swings between two poles: full-volume rock and metal shows, and long electronic and club nights. Recent and upcoming bills have included Jack White, The Hu, Enter Shikari, Skindred, Black Stone Cherry, Saxon, Razorlight, Picture This, Duke Dumont and Lane 8. Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster and the usual agents.

The story

From print works to gig room

For most of a century this building put out the Belfast Telegraph. Offices, print works and distribution all sat on the same Royal Avenue block, and the presses running through the night were part of the sound of the city centre.

The printing moved out and the shell stayed. Converted in 2017, the venue kept the industrial bones instead of covering them up: brick, steel and height. It is the height that does it. Stand in the middle of a sold-out show and the room feels like the inside of a machine that used to make something.
