A working still inside a Titanic landmark

The Pumphouse drove the pumps that emptied the Thompson Graving Dock, the dock built to fit out Titanic and her sister ships. Today it houses a working distillery, and your guide shows how the spirit is made on site. The Signature Tour covers the distillery and ends with a tasting of the house Irish whiskey and award-winning vodka. Step up to the Premium Tour and you also walk the graving dock and taste an exclusive 5-year pot-still whiskey. Dogs are welcome in the bar and coffee shop but not on the tours.

The story

About Titanic Distillers

Titanic Distillers opened the first working distillery in Belfast in nearly 90 years, reviving a tradition that had long gone quiet in the city. It is housed in the historic Pumphouse beside the Thompson Graving Dock, the vast dry dock built to fit out the Titanic and her sister ships in the early 1900s.

The Pumphouse once powered the pumps that drained the graving dock, a feat of Edwardian engineering tied directly to Belfast's shipbuilding history. Restoring it as a distillery turned a piece of Titanic heritage back into a working industrial building, this time producing Irish whiskey and vodka that have gone on to win awards.
