Confirm the location before you commit

Segway NI's own sessions run at Belfast's Titanic Quarter and off-road at Tannaghmore Gardens / Craigavon Lakes, and we could not confirm a Segway activity operating inside Castlewellan Forest Park - the park's official activity list does not mention Segways. If you have seen one advertised there, contact the operator first and confirm it is actually running at Castlewellan, where you meet, and the price. Do not book travel around it until you have that in writing. Whatever the location, a session is more about the glide and the views than speed.

The story

About this place

Castlewellan Forest Park sits north of the Mourne Mountains in Co Down, built around a large lake and the grounds of Castlewellan Castle. Its arboretum and Annesley Garden, planted from the 1700s onward, hold one of the most important tree collections in Britain and Ireland, and the park is best known to families for its Peace Maze - one of the largest hedge mazes in the world, opened in 2001.

A guided Segway session is a fun way to cover ground on a self-balancing electric machine after a short lesson. Segway NI - the main local operator - runs its rides at Belfast's Titanic Quarter and off-road at Tannaghmore Gardens / Craigavon Lakes, and we could not confirm a Segway activity operating inside Castlewellan Forest Park itself; the park's official activity list does not include it. Because these are privately run, booked activities rather than permanent park features, sessions and providers change from season to season - so always confirm the activity is genuinely running at the location you want, and lock in your slot directly, before making the trip.
