What's on for families

The galleries are the free, drop-in part: local, national and international exhibitions plus heritage displays you can see any time the centre is open. The ticketed side runs in the Danny Boy Auditorium, with family shows, live music, theatre, film and seasonal programming across the year. Hands-on children's workshops cover the kind of making kids love, from craft to design sessions, and August brings a dedicated Children's Month packed with arts and crafts activities. Programmes change through the year, so check the centre's own listings for what's running and to book.

The story

About the venue

Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre opened in October 2010 on Main Street in Limavady, marked out by the multi-coloured candy columns at its outdoor square. It is an award-winning facility run by Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council as the area's main arts hub.

The building holds the 221-seat Danny Boy Auditorium, the O'Hampsey Dance Studio, several art and heritage galleries, boardrooms and community workshop rooms. It also houses the Limavady Museum collection, a tourist information desk and a gift shop of local crafts.

Its programme spans live music and performance, local, national and international exhibitions, heritage displays, film and creative learning, with a focus on showcasing the stories and cultural diversity of the borough.
