What's on the water

The headline is a large floating inflatable obstacle course - giant slides, climbing walls, blast-bag launchers, balance beams and trampolines linked across the lake. The resort also has separate areas for younger children away from the big course; check what's age-appropriate when you book. Alongside the inflatables, the site runs a cable wakeboarding and water-sports park for kneeboarding and wakeboarding. This is genuinely an active, get-wet day out and it suits confident swimmers from age 7 up; children aged 8 and under must have an adult with them, and everyone must be able to swim unaided before going on the water. It is not a toddler splash-pool setup, so do not plan it around very small children.

The story

About the venue

Let's Go Hydro is an outdoor aqua park and alternative-accommodation resort on a lake at Carryduff, a short drive south of Belfast city centre. It is built around a large inflatable floating obstacle course - described as Ireland's largest - with a separate Junior Zone for younger children and a cable wakeboarding park alongside.

As well as the water activities, the site has expanded its glamping offer with pods, domes and huts, on-site food and a spa, making it a day-trip or overnight destination rather than a simple swimming venue.
