A big, bright jungle-themed indoor playground at Dundonald's East Point — a multi-level frame packed with tunnels, slides and climbing nets, separate zones just for babies and toddlers, and a café doing proper coffee. Built for under-8s, and a brilliant answer to a wet Belfast afternoon.

  • What you'll do — loose on a multi-level frame of tunnels, slides, climbing nets and dizzy discs, with themed corners (Suzie's Jungle House, the Village Shop, Mikey's Safari Garage), a mini football pitch and an interactive piano floor. Built for children up to 8 (and under 4ft 5in).
  • Little ones sorted — there are separate baby and toddler zones, so crawlers and wobblers get their own space away from the bigger climbers.
  • The café's the parent win — fresh ground coffee, sandwiches, paninis and wraps, with seating right by the frame so you can sit down and still keep an eye on them.
  • How long & cost — play runs as a 90-minute session. Recent prices were about £7.75–£8.95 per child by age and peak/off-peak, with under-1s a token £1.50 (free alongside an older sibling). Prices change, so check when you go.
  • Toddler Mornings — term-time weekday mornings run a calmer session with biscuits and juice for the pre-school crowd.
  • Grippy socks needed. Anti-slip socks are usually required on the frame — bring a pair for each child (you can often buy them there) and check before you go.
  • Busy at weekends & holidays. It's walk-in for play, but peak times fill up and the party rooms book ahead, so a quick check helps if your timing's tight.

Walk in for play — busier at peak times

It's open broadly 9.30am to 6pm, seven days a week. Weekends and school holidays get busy and parties are booked ahead, so it's worth checking current rates and times — and packing grippy socks — before you set off.

The story

Jungle play at East Point

Funky Monkeys opened at the East Point Entertainment Village in Dundonald in November 2014, one of several Funky Monkeys soft-play cafés dotted across Northern Ireland. It's a jungle-themed centre built squarely for under-8s — a big multi-level frame, separate baby and toddler zones, a mini football pitch and an in-house café.

The idea is simple and it works: let the kids loose on the frame and the themed corners while the grown-ups get a proper coffee within sight of the play. It sits alongside Dundonald's other family draws — the Ice Bowl and cinema are a moment away — so it's easy to build a fuller day around a visit, rain or shine.
