Three attractions, three different ages

The ice rink is the headline: Northern Ireland's only public Olympic-size rink, with sessions 7 days a week and weekend DJ skating. The 30-lane bowling centre runs standard games plus glow-in-the-dark Xtreme sessions with UV lighting, which suits older kids, teens and grown-ups. Indiana Land is the under-11s' world, with tunnels, rope bridges and a free-fall slide, plus a separate area for babies and toddlers to explore shapes and textures. Indiana Land caps at 11 years and under and 5ft tall, the free-fall slide is 6+, and a parent must supervise throughout. Term-time extras include Terrific Tots unlimited play for 3-and-unders and monthly ASD-friendly sessions.

The story

About the venue

The Dundonald International Ice Bowl opened in 1986 and is run by Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council. It has long been home to Northern Ireland's only public Olympic-size ice rink, alongside its tenpin bowling centre and Indiana Land soft play.

The site is undergoing a major council-funded redevelopment, with a new leisure centre featuring an Olympic-size rink, bowling, a large gym and community rooms due to open in 2027. The existing Ice Bowl remains open to the public throughout construction.
