Plan your visit

From your first breath underwater to coast wreck dives

Beginners can book a Try Scuba Diving session or the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, both done with an instructor in the sea or pool, no qualification needed. If you catch the bug, the centre runs the full PADI pathway through Open Water, Advanced, Rescue and on to Divemaster. Qualified divers can join boat dives on the Causeway Coast, where sites range from the accessible Skerries wall and kelp reefs to deeper wrecks like the Towy at 18m. Several sites carry strong currents and can only be dived at slack water, and the deeper wrecks are for experienced, suitably qualified divers only. You may see soft corals, congers, lobsters, cuttlefish and seals, though sightings are never guaranteed.

Good to know before you go:

Conditions here change with the weather and the tide, and visibility changes with them — clear and calm one day, murky and rough the next. Check a forecast and a tide table before you set off. Try-dives, courses and trips run on set days and tides, so book ahead rather than turning up.
